What is Restart a Heart Live?
It is an online CPR event with a mission to train as many school age children and adults as possible in lifesaving CPR and how to use a public accessible defibrillator.
Help us reach our goal of one million people by 2027.
Why is it important for everyone to learn CPR?
This initiative is incredibly important, as every year there are more than 40,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK, and sadly, only one in 10 people survive.
Early CPR and defibrillation can significantly improve the chances of survival from OHCA.
What time does the livestream start?
Live sessions are repeated hourly from 9am until 9pm.
When is it?
Wednesday 1st October 2025.
How much time does this take?
All you need is 25 mins to learn CPR, how to use a defibrillator and time to practise or stay for an hour.
What age group is it
suitable for?
Restart A Heart Live is suitable for all ages.
How can schools get involved?
We are encouraging all primary and secondary schools to get involved. To register your school, follow the link in the button below. It will be fun while learning a life saving skill.
As a parent/carer how can I help?
You can ask your child’s school to participate, just use the template letter in the link below.
Can I join from home?
Absolutely! If you register your interest at www.restartaheart.live, we will keep in touch with updates and reminders. All you need on the day is a cushion, a teddy, a bag with your jacket in it.
Who is supporting this?
This is a paramedic lead CPR event supported by Save A Life For Scotland, Save A Life Cymru, Scottish Ambulance Service, Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, Resuscitation Council UK.

What next?
You will be emailed a link closer to the time. The class will need to be sitting in front of the screen on the 1 October ready to take part.
Will I receive a certificate of participation?
You can print off a certificate after the event and register that you are ResusReady | Resuscitation Council UK.
